Peru is the most geographically diverse and exciting of all the South American nations. The population of Peru is almost 28 million. There are two official languages, Spanish and Quechua, but there are endless other indigenous languages spoken throughout the nation. The eleventh-highest country in the world, Peru’s mountains reach over 22,000 ft. above sea level in the Cordillera Blanca range. The Andes here are the highest mountain range anywhere in the tropics.
